Join Shyamla and Jes from Bindi Bosses for 2-hours of South Korean and Indian fusion dance to experience three of the world’s most popular cultural dance styles: K-Pop, Bollywood and Bhangra!

Psy’s Gangnam Style may have been a one-hit wonder in India but, in South Korea, Indian references have frequently appeared in Korean dramas and variety shows. K-pop singers have sung in Hindi and have even considered a crossover to Bollywood.

From 4MINUTE’s 2012 Hindu version of “Volume Up” to Seungri & BLACKPINK’s 2018 mashup of “DDU-DU DDU-DU” with “Tunak Tunak Tun” by Punjabi singer Daler Mehndi, this workshop is guaranteed to get everyone busting out energetic, fun and cheeky dance moves from South Korea and India.

All abilities, genders, identities and orientations welcome. Bindi Bosses workshops provide safe, inclusive, judgement-free spaces to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and to explore movement with emphasis on self-empowerment, body positivity and cross-cultural exchange.

This event is part of FRESH 2020 [ideas.insights.perspectives].
