Now in its 10th year, Big Band Blast (BBB) provides educational and performance opportunities to big bands across the country. For the 1st time, BBB is being held in Wagga, proudly presented by the Riverina Conservatorium of Music. We invite you to join us for a special night of swinging big band music!
Drummer and big band leader, John Morrison has delighted audiences for more than 40 years with his great sense of humour and dedication to sounds that swing. John spent much of his early musical life playing and recording with his younger brother, world renowned trumpeter, James Morrison. He formed his big band, Swing City, in 1999, thus began his love affair with big band music.
The band toured "A Celebration of Swing" show across Australia in 2022. Vocalist Jacki Cooper travelled the world with her music and now calls Sydney home. With 5 studio albums under her belt, she was named Best Jazz Artist at the 2010 Musicoz Awards. Jacki and John are dedicated jazz performers and educators who love to entertain and preach the Gospel of Jazz to music students across Australia. Together they work with thousands of students each year in their workshops and as part of their conference Big Band Blast.
