Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream – The McDonald College Wagga Tour

The McDonald College’s Senior Acting and Music Streams are proud to present a new and reimagined interpretation of Shakespeare’s classic play, A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Set in a small outback farming community, Australia’s magical flora and fauna play havoc with the heat and passion of couples searching for love. Throw into this mix a group of locals tasked with providing the entertainment for the station owner’s wedding, and you have the perfect mix of a magical night at the theatre.

The McDonald College, Australia’s premier Performing Arts School, is proud to bring this stunning production to Wagga Wagga – a place where some of its creatives have spent many hours working on or behind the scenes at The Playhouse.

For more information, visit The McDonald College website.

“Having reimagined Shakespeare's most enjoyable play, we have been able to gift our students the opportunity to explore the magical artistry of his storytelling through quintessentially Australian characters that live within the Aussie bush community. The students' initial apprehension soon turned into glorious moments of discovery as they embraced the challenge of creating this wonderful piece of theatre.”  Greg Friend, Head of Acting at The McDonald College

“When you ask people 'What’s the first word that comes up when you think of Shakespeare?' they immediately think of “boring” and “ancient”. This play is the opposite. Fantabulous!” - Lara, The McDonald College Acting Student
