Mercury Rising

Mercury Rising is a landmark new production created throughout 2025 and 2026 in partnership with re:group performance collective, artists from The Art Factory Supported Studio and the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre.

Blending live performance and film, the work is driven by the voices and experiences of local artists.

Premiering as part of the Wagga Wagga Civic Theatre’s 2026 program, Mercury Rising marks a powerful shift: placing disability-led performance alongside major national companies. It is an ambitious, artist-led work that challenges expectations, celebrates regional voices, and highlights the importance of inclusive programming on our stages.

This is more than a new show — it is a bold statement about who gets to create and lead performance, and why that matters.

re:group performance collective are a boundary-pushing ensemble blending theatre and film into bold, funny, and thought-provoking live cinema experiences.

The Art Factory Supported Studio Wagga is an inclusive creative program empowering artists with disability to explore, create and share their stories through art and performance.
